Chapter 3: Destruction and Anger

The ashes of Hyrule Castle Town flew over the land as Link and Pikachu raced to the burning town, horror and fear in both their eyes.

“Link…do you think that she…”

“No! Zelda had to survive! How did this happen?! How?!” Link yelled back at Pikachu as they rushed down the hill.

Suddenly, Mario jumped into the air and began to charge a dark ball of energy.

“Mario…?” Pikachu gasped.

“Run!” Link spoke loudly.

The pair began running back as the dark energy ball hit Hyrule Castle Town…it exploded and a wave of desolation began to engulf the area…

“If we get struck into the desolation, we’ll be goners!” Link shouted.

“I don’t get it…why is this happening?!” Pikachu said to Link as the desolation started to spread.

They made it to the rocky valley that led to Eldin Bridge. They stopped and looked back, the desolation had stopped.

“Lovely, isn’t it?”

The pair turned and saw Mario, grinning evilly at them.

“Mario…what the hell did you do?!” Link shouted.

“Oh…I just made my mark. I’m tired of all this peace…so, I think it’s time the Smash World met destruction.”

“What?! Destroy the Smash World?! Mario, what’s happened to you? You’ve gone crazy!” Pikachu replied desperately.

“I met power, Pikachu…” Mario suddenly fired an arrow, but Link and Pikachu jumped aside to avoid it.

“Hmm…no, I think it’s better we wait. After all…Zelda wouldn’t be happy.”

“What have you done with her?!” Link shouted.

“You’ll soon find out…” Mario laughed.

Link immediately jumped and tried to slash Mario, but Mario rolled and blasted Link into a rock with a fireball.

“Mario, you’ll pay for this!” Pikachu suddenly unleashed Thunder, but Mario jumped away as Thunder blasted the walls. Rocks came tumbling down and caused a block, separating Mario and Link and Pikachu.

“I will destroy you all…and the Smash World!”

Mario disappeared as his words rang in Pikachu’s ears. Pikachu ran over to Link, who was stirring.

“He’s become so powerful…” Pikachu said as Link stood up.

“If he wants to destroy the world, we need to form a rally…” Link replied.

“Let’s go to the Smash HQ in Kanto. It’d be our best bet. I’ll call as many fighters as possible.”

The pair jumped over the cliff and ran across the hills back to Kanto.

The Smash HQ was the Smash World inhabitant’s meeting place and also their base of operations. There was also one in the Mushroom Kingdom, in case of emergencies.

“Thank you all for coming.”

Link was the one in charge of the speech. It was a room with a computer and a long table with quite a few chairs. So far, only Pikachu, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff and Kirby had shown. There was also a newcomer.
“First, I’d like to extend a warm welcome to our newest member, what was your name?” Link asked the newcomer.

It was a boy, with a red cap and shirt and blue trousers.

“I go by Pokemon Trainer.” He replied.

“Ok…and…you apparently can use Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard? I have to admit, I’m impressed.” Link commented.

“Thank you.”

“Kirby, isn’t Meta Knight here yet?” Pikachu asked him.

“No…I think he said he was bringing the Halberd….”

“That would be helpful…Mewtwo and Jigglypuff?” Link asked,

“I’ve already sensed this dark power…as you know.” Mewtwo replied.

“It was you who noticed the evil coming from Hyrule…thank you.”

“No need for gratitude. If all, you should be angry with me. It was my fault you couldn’t prevent all this…”

“Please don’t think that, Mewtwo. You did you best. But can we please get to the point?” Jigglypuff piped up.

“You’re right, Jigglypuff. Ma-“

Link was cut off as the door opened. Bowser, Ganondorf, King Dedede and Wario came in.

“…I am thankful that you came here.”

“Bah! I already heard from Kammy, thanks to one of our spies in the region. If Mario thinks he can rule the world and quick ME aside, he has another thing coming!” Bowser roared.

“Mario wants to rule the world?!” Nearly everyone spoke.

“…Yes.”

There was silence to Link’s answer as the villains seated themselves.

“Mario destroyed Hyrule Castle…it is now an area of desolation, of darkness, of evil…like No Smash Land. It seems Princess Zelda…” Link clutched his fists.

“…Did not survive.” Ganondorf finished for him.

Suddenly, the computer flashed on and Mario appeared on the screen. Jigglypuff was so shocked that she fell out of her chair.

“Hello, smashers.”

“Mario! What have you done with Zelda?!” Link raged.

“…Why don’t you ask her yourself?”

The screen switched to a chained up Princess Zelda, who looked as if her life had been sapped from her, she was motionless and pale faced.

“Mario…you…!”

“Link…”

“ZELDA!!”

“If you want her back…you’ll have to defeat me. But that won’t be easy. I’ve already gotten many Smashers on my side.”

“Yeah…Fire Emblem went over, didn’t they? And so did Yoshi…” King Dedede spoke to Mario.

“You’re not as dumb as you look, Dedede.” Mario replied.

“My Waddle Dees hear many things.”

“If we have to fight the other smashers, then we will.” Mewtwo replied.

“Excellent…I’ll see you in battle, then.”

The computer turned off and Mario laughed on his end as a white light surrounded Zelda and she transformed into Kammy Koopa.

“Nehehehe….those foolish idiots! They fell for it, hook, line and sinker!”

“It seems they trust the villains too…excellent. They know what they must do. We leave it to them.”

Mario walked off as Kammy started skipping.
“I can’t wait until that Princess Toadstool gets what she deserves!” She thought happily.

“Damnit!” Link smashed his hand down onto the table as Ganondorf stood up.

“Link, allow me to take on Yoshi. My minions have said he was spotted on his island.”

“…Yes….you do that, Ganondorf…”

Ganondorf nodded and walked out of the room, a sinister smile on his face.

“Something doesn’t seem right about this…” Mewtwo thought to himself.

“I’ve got important things to do to! But I’ll help you take care of that Mario!” Wario said as he followed Ganondorf out of the room.

“Fine…” Link sighed.

“Let’s meet back here once the others arrive. Until then, we wait here.” Pikachu said.

“Good idea!” Kirby agreed.

The ocean of the Smash World. At the bottom in the southern seas, Yoshi’s Island is here. It is a peaceful place for all Yoshies.

“The island looks peaceful again today…” Yoshi thought.

Suddenly, a dark speck flew through the air. Yoshi watched it as it suddenly came down and punched him. Yoshi went sailing across the ground and stood up as he landed.

“Ganondorf!”

Ganondorf smiled.

“Well well, Yoshi…surrender and I won’t have to make this painful for you.”

“I don’t know what you’re up to…but I can take you!”

“Oh really? Let’s just see then.”

Ganondorf suddenly threw a ball of light at Yoshi. Yoshi immediately used his shell as a shield. The ball hit and caused Yoshi to roll across the grass, his egg roll. Ganondorf flew after him and then used his Warlock Punch. The move shattered Yoshi’s egg and Ganondorf kicked Yoshi up into the air as he flew up after him.

He knocked Yoshi down and Yoshi landed, a cloud of smoke coming from the ground. There was a crater, but Yoshi was far from out. Ganondorf flew in with his Gerudo Punch, but Yoshi threw an egg at him. Ganondorf was knocked back as Yoshi kicked him across and then started a Ground Pound. But Ganondorf teleported and used Warlock Punch to knocked Yoshi down.

Yoshi hit the ground but then grabbed Ganondorf’s leg with his tongue. He swallowed Ganondorf, who came out as an egg. Yoshi had won!

But then, Ganondorf burst through the egg with a wave of darkness coming from him. He knocked Yoshi back. Yoshi tried to catch him with his tongue, but Ganondorf caught it and pulled Yoshi into his elbow. He then flew up and started pulling Yoshi into him from all different directions. Yoshi was helpless as Ganondorf swung him down to the ground.

“So…any last words?”

Ganondorf charged another ball, this time of dark energy magic. Yoshi could do nothing…

Suddenly, Ganondorf was pounded to the ground by a hammer and he flew, the crash causing another crater.

“What…who?!”

He looked across and saw Pit, behind him were the Ice Climbers, tending to Yoshi.

“Get him out of here.” Pit spoke to them.

“Right!” The pair jumped into the dense jungles of Yoshi Island.

“So…Pit. You meddle with our fight?” Ganondorf smirked.

“No, I stopped you from killing Yoshi.”

“I see…I can get them later. The Ice Climbers and you…that’s a nice little bonus.”
